Book Drive. After Madison's surgery I was unable to hold her for about 2 weeks due to all her chest tubes, feeding tubes, monitors, etc. You feel helpless not being able to hold your baby and care for them. What I was able to do was sit bedside and read to her. She knew her dad and I were there. She knew our voices. She knew she was not alone. Donating books for parents to be able to sit and read to their children is so special to us as that is when we were able to be most connected to Madison when we couldn’t hold and touch her. The book drive is our annual February event to help spread CHD awareness during heart month.
